GUEST POST: Spring Picks

Hello Beauties!

I was approached by Adam, a very talented fashion blogger and retail marketer at Syracuse University. I accepted and he wrote this for all of you! If you want to know more about Adam here is a link to his Pinterest page. Enjoy!

Spring Picks

Thanks to the El Nino, this has been an unseasonably warm winter and it feels like spring is just around the corner. I’ve been finding myself wishing of warmer days and flowy, colorful clothes!

This dress from H&M has so much potential and you could have a lot of fun styling it in so many different ways! I especially love this top from H&M because it has a great shape. It’s a classic t-shirt with a great color but the curved sides are very flattering on most people.

I love Keds for the days when I put my converse away and I am feeling more preppy than edgy. These blue seersucker Keds are perfect for spring and summer and Keds are always coming out with awesome patterns for summer. A few years ago I bought my first pair of Keds that were July 4th inspired and I still wear them in the dead of winter and get compliments on them!

Now the only problem of spring is the rain. Rain rain go away and come back never! That’s probably what the co-founders of Felix Rey, Salaika Zarrouk and Lily Rafii (now Lily Rafii Band after marrying Doug Band), were thinking when they designed this umbrella. I love the umbrella and the rain boots from Target because they bring fun to the dreariest of days.

IT’S AUTUMN OOTD!

Hello Beauties!

FALL IS HERE! As you can tell, I love Fall. I love the colors and the weather and the sweaters and hot chocolate. I’m a huge fan of Fall. Fall is life. Fall is everything. Autumn is a great word too. Pre-Winter is kinda ominous. Anyways here is my short, and constructive, OOTD for this week!

For this outfit I wore my H&M knit tights under my favorite PacSun high-waisted shorts. This Autumn will have tons of knee-high socks with dresses and shorts with leggings, which are two things I’m very excited to incorporate into my wardrobe. I grabbed this little bunny-rabbit shirt at the thrift store (it says it’s from H&M) and I finished it off with this mustard sweater from Target as a statement piece. My advice for shoes is to keep ’em simple. I paired my favorite brown heels with this outfit! Quick sidetrack: Lately I’ve been having knee issues so I’m wearing a lot of supportive shoes but when it comes to heels, if you get nice sturdy ones, they won’t really bug me. I guess I felt you should know that. No clue why, it happened. Let’s move on.

What A Cool Kimono! | Fashion Friday

I decided to finally wear this kimono after buying it just for the purpose of working to pull it off, and I’m kinda pretty proud. Like, I think I did a good job.

When wearing such a statement piece like this, you need to make everything else more minimalistic, otherwise it can be a total overload. That’s why I stuck to a neutral, but flattering, black tank and a pair of high-waisted shorts. I also kept my makeup more minimalistic, and only wore a small amount of jewelry, which consisted of my favorite watch from Target ($10 guys… it’s amazing)!

The first thing that attracted me to this kimono was the pattern. I’m very much in love with bold colors and designs, and it incorporates non-Earthy tones with some more rustic shades very easily. I also really liked the slits on the sides; they just add a little bit more to the garment.

I’ve been seeing a lot of these kinds of coverups, whether they are light and thin or more weighted, the kimono is definitely making a rightful comeback.

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned every Tuesday and Thursday for videos, and then every Friday for anything fashion! Until next time…

Fashion Friday|Pretty in Pastels

Hello Beauties!

It’s super early in the morning when I’m writing this, so it might not be my finest hour (sorry). I’m so very dedicated to bringing you guys this Fashion Friday’s outfit, which obviously has to do with Spring even though it’s starting to feel more like summer. But Spring calls for pastels, light jeans, and soft sweaters all day, every day. So this is my kinda everyday, middle weather pastel outfit!

Since it was cooler outside, I opted for a comfortable pair of American Eagle skinny jeans, which are soft as a baby’s bottom. Okay, they aren’t that soft, lets be real they are still denim. I paired them with this pastel pink blouse to dress the whole outfit up a little bit and also to add a more flattering touch to my figure! Then I finished it off with my go-to Old Navy sweater as a cover up for, you know, covering up…

Then there are these suede wedges from Modcloth. Even though they started to hurt my feet after a while, I regret nothing. At all. They have small, teardrop-shaped cutouts on the sides as well to add a little more flair! They are like nothing that I’ve ever seen or worn, meaning that you will get MAJOR compliments with these puppies!

How to Get the Look

Sweater: Old Navy

Jeans: American Eagle
