Hitting up Aerie, Aeropostale, and Forever 21

Hello Beauties!

Whilst Christmas shopping, my mom and I started peaking around for ourselves. What can I say, we’re slightly selfish when it comes to finding deals! And let me tell you, there were so. Many. Deals. I’ll say more later so keep reading Loves!

Of course, I had to exchange some leggings and once I got in the store I ended up buying. A lot. Currently, there is a 6 for $20 on all undies there so I would CHECK IT OUT if you are in the market for some pretty panties! I know I have to keep rotating the ones with blood stains (TMI sorry but get used to it). The progressive brand has come out with really cute high-waisted underwear for those who feel more comfortable or curious in that style of underwear. I have never tried it personally, so I bought a few to see how they feel and hold up (PSA from future Marin editing this: They are sooooo nice). I also grabbed one of the new triangle bralettes in what I can only describe as periwinkle. They are originally $24 but it was half off for what I’m assuming is a limited time deal so I would act fast if you’re in the market for a new little number. Add it to the collection!

I also picked up a pair of the Move Leggings in a heather grey. They have that slick material on the outside and then a soft flannel on the inside, so not exactly athletic wear but perfect for the winter/Michigan blizzards!

Apparently Aeropostale is 70% off since they are reopening with a completely different look, and thus completely different merchandise. While I haven’t shopped at Aeropostale in ages, getting a $24 dollar shirt for $8 is pretty damn good. So, we popped in and ended up finding some good pieces! I got this black cross-front top for Christmas parties and whenever the occasion calls for much cleavage (Ladies, you know what I’m saying). Then I got this crushed-velvet knit sweater, which happens to be cropped as well, in evergreen. Again, this was originally $44 and I got it for $13. Praise. I also picked up a pack of socks for a dollar because why not!? Also, who doesn’t like that pattern?

Finally, we ended at Forever 21 for the cutest little cropped turtle necks I have ever seen. The cream coloring, the fabric, the tiny print– all of it reminds me of the shirts my mom would dress me in. My mother cringed at the sight of them since SHE remembers wearing similar ones as a little girl! I can’t wait to pair them with high-waisted jeans, corduroy skirts, and big sweaters this winter!

GUEST POST: Spring Picks

Hello Beauties!

I was approached by Adam, a very talented fashion blogger and retail marketer at Syracuse University. I accepted and he wrote this for all of you! If you want to know more about Adam here is a link to his Pinterest page. Enjoy!

Spring Picks

Thanks to the El Nino, this has been an unseasonably warm winter and it feels like spring is just around the corner. I’ve been finding myself wishing of warmer days and flowy, colorful clothes!

This dress from H&M has so much potential and you could have a lot of fun styling it in so many different ways! I especially love this top from H&M because it has a great shape. It’s a classic t-shirt with a great color but the curved sides are very flattering on most people.

I love Keds for the days when I put my converse away and I am feeling more preppy than edgy. These blue seersucker Keds are perfect for spring and summer and Keds are always coming out with awesome patterns for summer. A few years ago I bought my first pair of Keds that were July 4th inspired and I still wear them in the dead of winter and get compliments on them!

Now the only problem of spring is the rain. Rain rain go away and come back never! That’s probably what the co-founders of Felix Rey, Salaika Zarrouk and Lily Rafii (now Lily Rafii Band after marrying Doug Band), were thinking when they designed this umbrella. I love the umbrella and the rain boots from Target because they bring fun to the dreariest of days.

american eagle haul

Hello Beauties!

One day I was incredibly bored and decided to start shopping for my Italy trip (this April). All of the stuff came today, and naturally being the overly-excited person that I am I threw it on (tags and all) and took photos for all ya’ll to admire. So admire away. *P.S. I’m kinda sick and on break so this is definitely a #IWokeUpLikeThis moment*

American Eagle has this Soft and Sexy line, and if you ever need any kind of shirt, get it from this line. They are honest to God so so so soft, and might I add very sexy! I got me about this is the pale blue color as well as the flowy cut to the top. It’s incredibly light, perfect for spring in Italy!

This little number is also from the Soft and Sexy line, and it most definitely lives up to the name. I knew that I wanted a crop top or a tank top, and this combines the two with an adorable tie accent. It’s very light (not sheer) so I’d layer it with some kind of sweater for the trip. This will be super for hot summer days though!

I haven’t had a pair of capris in ages, and these are by far the best ones I’ve tried on! They’re the Artist Crop Jeans in sateen, making them incredibly stretchy and comfortable. I also love the army green because it goes with practically everything in practically every season.

This dress is also from the Soft and Sexy collection. With side cutouts, a loose frame, and a simple cut it will be perfect to accessorize with. Adding some eye-catching jewelry will take this versatile piece to the next level. Because of this it will be perfect for travel when I will have to mix and match my way through those ten day!

Wrapping Up January

Hello Beauties!

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? There have been finals, internship work, and whatever else that has been keeping me busy. But why don’t we talk about this month’s favorites according to yours truly!

Beauty

DSC_0030

I haven’t been having a lot of skin issues lately– just some redness here and there. regardless, Almay’s Smart Shade CC Cream has been the perfect remedy. It takes away redness and other discoloration without feeling greasy or thick. I like to use a damp Beauty Blender to work it in and get that smooth look that we all strive for!

Skincare

DSC_0031

Since I’ve been having some problems with redness and slight acnes, I’ve become a serious fan of Neutrogena’s Redness Soothing Acne Wash. It’s gentle, but effective, and the more I use it the better my skin looks. I also included Earth Therapeutics Smooth Face Brush because this is one of the best and least expensive cleansing brushes I’ve seen on the market!

Moisturizer

DSC_0032

My mom grabbed this for her sister so I decided to give it a try. Since then it’s been featured in Allure and other beauty sites and rightly so; all you have to do is apply it to wet skin (it’s slightly greasy at first), then gently pat dry and voila! Instant smooth and radiant skin with ease!

Book Of The Month

DSC_0033

I loved this book so, so, so much. I knew right from the beginning that it was going to get me, and it most certainly did. It follows the lives and perspectives of multiple immigrants from South America to the United States. Some are legal, some are not, but each has a riveting tale of how they got to where they are now. It’s brilliantly written, and will definitely give a different perspective on immigration.

Outfit of The Month

DSC_0037DSC_0038

The pants are from American Eagle and are one of the most comfortable pairs I’ve ever owned! The shirt is from Target; it’s super lightweight and loose, with a dipped back and matching shorts. I also added this wishbone necklace as a simple yet key accent, without deterring from the pattern.

Enchanting And Easy: Audrey Hepburn OOTD

Hello Beauties!

As you might have noticed, Tuesdays and Fridays seem to match up, and this week the big topic is Audrey Hepburn. She was beautiful, talented, and lionhearted. This is how we worship her. Through makeup and clothes. Let’s get to it.

DSC02769

I wanted something relaxed because this week has been pretty calm for once. Audrey’s signature look was always black slacks, quarter-sleeved shirts (black or stripped), and ballet flats. Everything else was very simple, as you saw in Tuesday’s Makeup Look.

DSC02808

I immediately paired my H&M harem pants with the closest shirt I could find to something she would wear. I came up with my Forever21 stripped shirt, and then just went without shoes because this was more an “around the house” look. Also, think about just wearing shoes consistently. That irks me.

DSC02817

Just to add a little flash of color and sparkle, I went for my little heart necklace. If you’re going to wear any jewelry keep it really, really, simple. But I don’t normally get decked out for my couch. Maybe it’s just me.

Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks,

Marin
