Wrapping Up January

Hello Beauties!

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? There have been finals, internship work, and whatever else that has been keeping me busy. But why don’t we talk about this month’s favorites according to yours truly!

I haven’t been having a lot of skin issues lately– just some redness here and there. regardless, Almay’s Smart Shade CC Cream has been the perfect remedy. It takes away redness and other discoloration without feeling greasy or thick. I like to use a damp Beauty Blender to work it in and get that smooth look that we all strive for!

Since I’ve been having some problems with redness and slight acnes, I’ve become a serious fan of Neutrogena’s Redness Soothing Acne Wash. It’s gentle, but effective, and the more I use it the better my skin looks. I also included Earth Therapeutics Smooth Face Brush because this is one of the best and least expensive cleansing brushes I’ve seen on the market!

Moisturizer

My mom grabbed this for her sister so I decided to give it a try. Since then it’s been featured in Allure and other beauty sites and rightly so; all you have to do is apply it to wet skin (it’s slightly greasy at first), then gently pat dry and voila! Instant smooth and radiant skin with ease!

Book Of The Month

I loved this book so, so, so much. I knew right from the beginning that it was going to get me, and it most certainly did. It follows the lives and perspectives of multiple immigrants from South America to the United States. Some are legal, some are not, but each has a riveting tale of how they got to where they are now. It’s brilliantly written, and will definitely give a different perspective on immigration.

Outfit of The Month

The pants are from American Eagle and are one of the most comfortable pairs I’ve ever owned! The shirt is from Target; it’s super lightweight and loose, with a dipped back and matching shorts. I also added this wishbone necklace as a simple yet key accent, without deterring from the pattern.

BEST PRODUCTS!

Hello Beauties!

Guys these products are amazing! No lies, no jokes, just truth. I’ve repurchased all of these at LEAST once, but most are on their 3rd or 4th replacement, which says a lot coming from the girl who can’t settle down with anything (hence being single). Jokes. But seriously, read carefully to this post, and tell me what your life-changing product is in the comments below!

Batiste Dry Shampoo: I think it’s a brilliantly smart idea to get colored dry shampoo. Why live with clumps of white product in your hair!? It looks like dandruff, why do you want that? That’s no good. No good at all. Unless you’re blonde, then it just kinda blends in.

Empties 3

You want smooth/frizzless hair? Look no further! I actually use this as a leave in conditioner and it is SO GOOD. Matrix outdid itself with this one! And the packaging looks great, doesn’t it? Plus it’s very affordable.

Empties 4

Many people overlook the need for a good deodorant. This is a serious problem, especially amongst 6th graders, which I learned from the lengthy discussions about B.O. in class. This Secret Deodorant definitely lasts through showers, workouts, swimming, and most definitely sweating! It will even last till the next morning, so there is no kidding around with this one. Plus, it smells like Paris.

Empties 5

I’ve talked about this product before and so has everyone else because it is so good. So good guys. Like guys, it is so good! Anyways, I’ve lately been using Simple’s Cleansing Micellar Water as a makeup remover at night and a cleanser in the morning, and I promise you it will deliver amazing results! French models use it. French. Models.

This is another miracle skincare product! Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Moisturizer is easily comparable to Clinique moisturizers but half the price. It makes your skin hydrated, refreshed, and isn’t greasy at all, so all you oily people can relax. I don’t think I’m ever going to use a different moisturizer!

Everyday Makeup Look |Summer Edition

Hello Beauties!

I’m loving this summer makeup look; it’s super simple and perfect for those hot summer days! I have a video below of the whole process that you can watch, but until then here is a list of products I used! Enjoy!

Nivea Lip Balm: This is a must have for every person! I apply it every morning and night for healthy lips!

Rimmel BB Cream: I love to use this cream during the summer when I don’t need a whole lot of coverage, but I still want a little something-something to brighten up my face.

Almay Clear Complexion Foundation: I generally use this as a concealer for any problem areas I’m having that day, but I make sure not to over do it since it has a slightly heavier coverage.

Rimmel Natural Bronzer (Waterproof): I never used bronzer before, but this summer I’m loving it! I also like that it’s waterproof, so there’s no need to worry about your glow fading throughout the day.

Maybelline FITME powder in 130: I’m all for a controlled natural look, so I’m a huge fan of this super light-weight setting powder. I just apply this in my T-zone to take away some of the shine.

Almay Shade Softies in Creme Brûlée: I just swiped this on my lids for something soft and simple.

Clinique Eyeshadow in Blushed: Contrary to the name, this blue eyeshadow is perfect to use as an eyeliner to brighten my face and add a little bit of color to this natural look!

E.L.F Lip Balm & Tint: It applies super easily and doesn’t fade! I added a little bit of lipgloss over it for an extra shine.

Pixi Moisturizing Setting Spray: It’s little bit more on the pricey side for a setting spray but this stuff is AMAZING! It really keeps your makeup in place all day.

Keep reading for more on beauty, fashion, and random parts of my life every single week!

Maintaining Your Eyebrows Has Never Been Easier! | Beauty Tuesday

Hello Beauties!

DSC_0002

I recently purchased the Nad’s Facial Wax Gel Kit because I’ve been so sick of plucking my eyebrows every week and still not getting all the hairs in one go. It’s frustrating and we’ve all been there. Eyebrow maintenance is tricky since there is high risk to experimenting with them. Thankfully I’ve been blessed with fast-growing bushy beasts, but that also means that I will most definitely be slaving away in front of the mirror for about 10 minutes trying to get them the way I want.

The alternatives are waxing or spending money to get them done, which I’d rather not do at the moment even though I’ve heard it’s a life changing experience. So if you are more of a “do it yourself” person like me, this waxing kit will be helpful to you!

Eyebrow Wax kit

Warm the wax tube in hot water in your bathroom sink while you use one of the cleansing towelettes to get all of that nasty dirt off of the hairs.

Eyebrow wax 2

Take the wand and twist the bottom slightly (like a 90’s lipgloss tube) so that only a small bit of wax bubbles at the tip. Then carefully drag the wax across the area you want, whether it be your lip, chin, or eyebrows. I find this the most painful step if the wax is not completely warm.

Eyebrow Waxing 3

Take one of the cloth strips in the packet and stroke it onto the wax. Then all you gotta do is muster the courage to rip that thing off and be free!

Finally, I always go back over with the same towelette from step 1 as to get all of the access wax off yo’ face! Then BAM! You’re beautifully hairless in the eyebrow region!

Stay tuned for another post Thursday and Friday! Also you can find my past post here as well! Until then…

Drugstore Foundation Review!

Hello Beauties!

DSC_0045DSC_0041DSC_0046

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation: Yeah, this thing lasts over a FULL DAY! Or so it says, but why not trust packaging, right? 😉 I personally love it and the brand Rimmel London for practically all of my complexion needs. When needed I apply it everywhere and it really, really stays. I have danced for hours in this (as in ballet on stage) and it never faltered once. I usually use it as a concealer and apply it with a Beauty Blender, and it works pretty well for that. But I’d say it’s much better as a medium to full coverage foundation.

Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation: I haven’t used this foundation in a while, but I’d really like to! I also use this for dance performances, and even though I don’t agree with it as much as the Rimmel London one, it is definitely a full coverage foundation. Aesthetically, I love the packaging; it reminds me of a high-end Nars foundation. Plus, I’m a serious sucker for packaging. I’d love to try the Maybelline Fit Me! Dewy/Matte foundation line as well. It seems very promising…

NYX Super Matte But Not Flat Foundation: This is the first NYX foundation product I ever owned, and I’ve gotta say I was not impressed. NYX is known to be the high-end drugstore company, but this foundation did not apply well, did not matte, and did not wear well. It actually made me oilier than without the foundation. That might have been because my skin was so matted that it produced more oil to overcome the foundation? Whatever the reason, I’d be weary of this product. It says that it’s full coverage, but then it wears off throughout the day.

Maybelline Dream Liquid/Matte Mousse Foundation: I have used one completely up (the liquid) and one I barely touched (the jar). That’s not because it wasn’t good, it’s because it seriously matted my face! I obviously didn’t need as much coverage as I thought, but I gotta say that it’s very entertaining to just feel the whipped, bouncy foundation. The liquid I liked when I didn’t really have a lot of skin problems, so if you are someone who wants a light coverage, airy foundation, then this is the product for you!

Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous Pressed Foundation: I didn’t think much of this product, or even this line, before I heard good things about this powder from a friend. I just buy mascara from Covergirl and nothing else. But I like this product as a really amazing powder over a foundation, or as a coverup for them attractive under-eye bags and what not. I think it would be a nice light coverage foundation, but like really, really light coverage.
