My March Favorites!

Hello My Beauties!

Screen Shot 2015-03-30 at 7.58.17 AM

To kick off this last week of March I’m giving you my favorites of this month! There are some beauty items some food items, and some exercise items, so get hype!

My Favorites

O.P.I Nail Laquer in Passion: I don’t usually paint my nails, but when I do, I use O.P.I. (good on you if you got that reference). I’m favoriting any kind of Springy, floral, or pastel-y color of nail polish for the beginning for this month, and one of my favorite brands is OPI!

Almay Smartshade Concealer: Since I’ve started my very successful skincare routine (find it here), my skin has been so pretty and easy to deal with it’s unbelievable. So instead of going full-on foundation, I just use this concealer on my problem spots and under my eyes (AKA my designer bags) and blend it out with a brush! Super simple and saves a lot of time!

Sunglasses: I’m LOVING SUNGLASSES! Why?! Because sunglasses means that there is Sun, and Sun means it’s warm, and warmth means that it’s getting closer to Summer, and Summer means the following:

Tans

Shorts

T-shirts

Beach Days

Nice Weather

Sunglasses

I’m really excited if you couldn’t tell…

Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies: I bought 6 BOXES of these suckers and if that’s not a legitimate reason to have something in your favorites, I don’t know what is. I’m addicted to these things, to the point of eating way too much of them. But once you start, you can’t stop, so I blame the cookies.

Exercise (in general): I’ve started taking a personal fitness independent study through my school, so lately I’ve really gotten into the whole healthy “your body is a temple” kick, which is kinda hard to believe after I just ranted about Thin Mints. This month my favorite is everything exercise related: clothing, shoes, workout tapes, and most importantly, Blogilates!

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: It’s a Netflix Original. Tina Fey produced it. Ellie Kemper from The Office stars in it. What more needs to be said?

Thank you all so much for reading! Check out the video at the very top of the post and comment with your own March Favs! Until next time…

Love Yourself In 15 Different Ways!

Hello My Beauties!

On Valentine’s Day I made a video based off a post I read on 15 Ways To Love Yourself (click here to watch). Now, I didn’t finish all of the different activities, but the ones that I did do were kinda fun! Even though I didn’t really feel any significant change, I think the point of all of it was to just find creative ways to be alone and comfortable, which I always love doing!

Going for a long drive through a neighborhood I’ve never known about. I even saw a deer!

Being an only child I’ve grown accustomed to spending hours by myself, so when I’m constantly surrounded by others, I find myself desperately searching for some alone time. Being alone allows you to clear your head, to review your stance on something, to reflect or compose yourself after a fight, and be able to just enjoy your own company.

You can never go wrong with a relaxing bath.

All-in-all I highly encourage you to spend at least 20 minutes doing something alone, whether that’s going for a hike, taking a drive, or listening to relaxing music on your yoga mat in the middle of your living room (me everyday).

It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you have fun doing it and you grow a little from the experience! If you want some inspiration, just search things to do by yourself or ways to love yourself. There are usually a lot of cool, sometimes pretty corny, ideas in those kinds of articles!

I also went on a hike in the freezing cold. I had a clear head and ten frozen toes by the end.

Even binge watching your favorite movies/TV shows is SO MUCH FUN! Call in sick, actually become physically ill (me), or find an afternoon to watch 2 or 3 of your most-loved films.

My favorite movies consisted of ones I hadn't watched in a while: Anastasia, How To Steal A Million, and Hercules.

And no one can complain if you go and treat yo’ self! Except maybe your wallet…

A small Forever 21 splurge...
                                 A small Forever 21 splurge…

One thing that I’ve found really helps me is to go stargazing. Just the handful of visible stars in my neighborhood at night helps me feel grounded and all of the stress or nervousness of the day kinda melts away, leaving me feeling more connected with myself and the things around me.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and that you have taken something from it! I’m a firm believer of finding peace with your person. Not only does it feel amazing, it also comes in handy if you are in a bad place or if your having problems with others because you know your self-worth and that won’t change. At the end of the day all you have is yourself, so do things that make you happy and fulfilled.

Get Ready With Me (Makeup Edition)!

Hello My Beauties!

Everyday Makeup

I’ve been meaning to produce a makeup video that is just full-blown edited, thought out, styled, etc. for a while, but I haven’t had the time until recently. It took a while to put together, but I’m really proud of my Everyday Makeup Routine and I’d really appreciate your comments!

I also want to celebrate a small victory of getting over 1,000 views on my channel *Woop Woop*! I really support everything that you guys have done for me, all of my readers and watchers, it honestly means so much! So please enjoy this video and stay tuned for a nice, long, dedicated post! I feel like I haven’t really been giving enough love to this blog, but I have changed up my posting schedule to something a bit more manageable. Until next time…

My Story Board

Hello My Beauties!

I created this video because I wanted to bring you all a little bit closer into my life, and what’s more personal than a cork board covered in things from my past?! A lot of stuff is, but that doesn’t matter right now, we’re just going to focus on the cork board.

There is a crazy amount of stuff on it, ranging from bookmarks to photographs to trinkets from momentous occasions! And it’s so neat to look at this space and see parts of yourself reflected in your successes, your memories, your favorite quotes, and your sources of inspiration!

Even though I actually got this idea from some random movie ages ago, I encourage all of you to try it. All you have to do is collect little trophies and memorabilia from your everyday life, whether it’s a ticket stub or a drawing, and pin it up in your room/dorm/living-space-area. After you do it for a while you’re able to see the growth and progress and CHANGE you have made! I have photos from 6th-9th grade up there! And the best thing is is it’s about you. Take it with you wherever you go; take it to college for goodness sakes! Watch it grow and flourish until you don’t have anymore room to keep adding things, and then KEEP ADDING THINGS! If anything it will be a great conversation piece.

So that was my little rant on the matter! I hope that you’ve enjoyed and please comment about anything! I love hearing back from you guys, it’s always a great pick-me-up! Until next time…

Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks,

Marin XO

What I Do When I’m Home Alone…

Hello My Beauties!

Home Alone Photo

I know, I know, I’ve been behind on uploading and posting. Just sometimes life gets in the way and it stinks, but I gotta deal with that beast before I post to this one.

BUT BUT BUT I have a quick little video for y’all to watch right here, right now. So click to see what I do when I’m HOME ALONE *DUNDUNDUNNNNNN*!

Fair warning, things get weird.

Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks,
