The Crazy Thing I Bought (And Shout Out!)

Hello My Beauties!

What I Bought

So I went shopping (like always), partially for the Love Yourself challenge I have taken up, but also because I like to buy things and I was bored. SO I made a ‘What I Bought/Shout Out’ video for your entertainment! Well, not just for you, for me too, but I’m sharing it with you because I love you!

Anyways, the shout out portion is to my close friend, Eleanor. We have this thing before and after Valentine’s day where we have Marin Day and Eleanor Day, and this year she gave me some really cool stuff! And to show my appreciation I made it public! Yaaaaayyyyy!

I hope that you all enjoy and if you want to take up the Love Yourself challenge as well, join me! It’s fun, I promise.

My Little Post-Christmas Haul!

Hello My Beauties!

I hope you all doing well? Yes? That’s awesome! I’m excited to be getting back into my schedule and posting again! Miss y’all ūüôā

I uploaded a Youtube video of my “small” Post-Christmas haul, check it out here! But why would I keep all of the fun from you studious blog readers? That would just be mean! So I took some photos of the items that I bought and got really excited about writing this post. Let’s do this, shall we?

STORES:¬†Wet Seal, XXI Forever, Francesca’s, White Barn, and Aerie.

White Barn

I’ve never been inside of this place, but I really wanted to by candles for my (growing) collection! I’ve been really into scented ones lately and I thought that it would be nice to get a couple more for my room. After rummaging around¬†Bath and Body Works for a while, I decided that I might find something in¬†White Barn, the store attached to B&BW. At first I thought it was going to be really boring, but then I found these two that I really liked and they were INCREDIBLY cheap because of the sales going on!

Aerie

I always have to go to Aerie whenever I go to a mall that has the store! Since I have SO many of their bras I went for something different, like these party-penguin pajama bottoms! They are so soft and adorable, plus they have pockets! How could a girl refuse?!

I also bought one bra (oops!). I’ve really been loving these non-paded bralettes. They’re really comfortable and can be worn under anything. Plus, if they peek out from the sides of a shirt, they look stylish, so there aren’t any worries in that department!

Francesca’s

DSC_0023

I never go into Francesca’s. I’m not sure why, their clothes are just slightly more than I would like to spend and I subconsciously avoid it so that I don’t waste all of my money. But on this shopping trip I broke down and went straight for the clearance section, where I found this little gem that used to be $45, then was marked down to $25, which was then marked down to $15! Now that’s what I call smart shopping… or a miracle. It is slightly large, but the way that it drapes makes the size not really matter.

Wet Seal

I also rarely go into¬†Wet Seal, but the one in this mall seemed very different than the one we have here so my friend and I decided to go. Even though I only bought one thing (I only found one thing that I liked), it was also on clearance and I got it for $10! It really fits my style and I can’t wait till I get to wear it!

XXI Forever

Finally, we went to¬†XXI Forever. I still don’t know the difference between Forever 21 and XXI Forever, so if you know COMMENT BELOW! Anyways, I bought two things, and reluctantly leaved behind five other items because of my lack of cash. In the end I chose a set of TWO rings (the middle pearl one slides out from the two bands) and I bought a more quirky cat pullover because who doesn’t want one of those?! It’s really soft and I think it will go with a lot of other things.

Well thank ya for reading, it’s been fun! Look out for my¬†January Interview, I’m excited for it! Also give a big round of applause to my lovely model Lady who so graciously showed some of the tops for you since I was too lazy to do it myself!

Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks,

Black Friday Haul!!!!

Hello My Beauties!

This year’s Black Friday shopping was unbelievable! The savings were amazing and I was able to buy a lot more than I thought I’d be able to be with the money I brought. SO here is my Black Friday Haul for all of you beautiful readers!¬†Please comment with anything you liked as well as the stores you hit up that Friday!¬†

*I just want to say that I did not go shopping on Thanksgiving. I personally don’t support having stores open that early but that’s just one girl’s opinion*

STORES: American Eagle, XXI Forever, Aldo  MONEY: $120

American Eagle Outfitters

So I was able to get a huge discount at AE this year! Not only were they having a 40% off your entire purchase, but I was also able to get $20 off after using the gift card my friend got me for their stores, so thank you Gracie! As for what I bought, I got a really super duper soft striped tee that I just absolutely adore! I’ve never found a shirt with maroon and baby blue color combo and it immediately caught my eye! I also got a super cute flannel button up for this winter. It’s also extremely soft, and I got it in a large since a) they didn’t have my size and b) I liked the bigger fit of it.

XXI Forever

I am so excited for all of the stuff I got at XXI Forever! Their deals weren’t super impressive, but I did have the incredible surprise of having the dress (shown below) be only $6 instead of $20. I bought this really adorable pack of four rings because I have been really needing some new finger candy! I also got this incredible pack of TEN earrings for only FIVE BUCKS! Honestly, if you are ever looking for a place to get great, inexpensive jewelry, Forever 21 is the place to go!

I also bought this super cute, very wintery dress that fits perfectly to accent what small curves I posses, an athletic tank top because I like to think that I am fit in some way, and finally this adorable velvet-black, flower-patterened crop top!

Aldo

I didn’t actually mean to buy anything from Aldo, but once I say these shoes I couldn’t stop myself! The crazy shopping side of me reared its head and I purchased the shoes. It happens to the best of us. No, but seriously I fell into a deep and maddening love when I saw these bad boys! I have been looking for a pair of riding boots for ages but I could never find a pair that I liked, and then I found these and I died a little. They are perfectly accented with the laces and embellishments on the toe but they still keep that riding-boot aesthetic. But wait, there’s more. They were 50% off! So yeah I bought the shoes! Who would’t buy the shoes!? Voldemort probably, but we don’t talk of him or his lack of style…

Okie-dokie thank you all so much for reading and definitely look forward to seeing these items in future posts of mine! Here’s hoping that your holidays were amazing and that you all have a great time shopping for loved ones for this Christmas/ Hanukkah/ Kwanzaa/ Winter Solstice or whatever else you might celebrate!

Target Beauty Haul

I used BeFunky Photo editor: www.befunky.com
I used BeFunky Photo editor: http://www.befunky.com

So I went to the local Target and I ended up getting some makeup products that I have tried and will now review for you guys! Some of these items I really like and others did not work out for me, either because of the shade or that particular product. But I promise to be completely honest in my reviews of each item as well as provide alternative products for the ones I did not like. Thank you for reading and enjoy!

Comb: So, funny story, I went to my friend’s family’s lake house and I left my favorite comb and hair brush there so that is why I bought this. My old one was also a Conair brush, though it was a slightly different style. I still like this one though, it is kinda cheaper than my other one but I like that it is a combination of wide and normal teeth.

Brush:¬†Also left my hair brush at the house so I bought this brush. I was heavily debating on buying the new Wet Brush but I decided to go slightly safer and get another Conair since I don’t know a lot about it. This is actually a really nice one too! It is very light weight and leaves my hair feeling super smooth without making it too frizzy. I have curly, thick, layered hair that frizzes very easily and is prone to breakage so I usually comb it out, but I always appreciate a good brush.

e.l.f Brushes: I got a concealer brush and an eyeshadow brush. I only buy select items from e.l.f, mainly because I have a lot of favorite makeup brands that I don’t stray from but also because I am slightly skeptical of the quality of the makeup. I do have friends that stand by the brand religiously, but I personally do not buy a whole lot. I do have a couple of brushes though and they work fairly well. My favorite makeup tool company is Real Techniques, but I appreciate that I can get an eyeshadow brush for $3. The concealer brush worked fairly well but it would not be my first choice. The eyeshadow brush on the other hand is very helpful!

e.l.f Eyeshadow: I do not really like this eyeshadow. I like that it is very pigmented, but it crumbles very easily and is slightly messy to apply. I like that each color has a different purpose (base, crease, lid, etc). I personally really like Wet n’ Wild eyeshadow trio which is basically the same thing but very easy to apply.

e.l.f Tinted Moisturizer: I have gotten this before but it was a long time ago so I decided to try it again and see if I like it. It is a tinted moisturizer so it does not do a whole lot other than moisturize, but I like it as a “replacement foundation” on days when I am not going anywhere or doing simple errands. I always use my concealer with it since it does not have good coverage, it just slightly corrects the skin tone.

Maybelline Concealer: My friend had a bottle of FIT ME foundation by Maybelline and she gave it to me because it was slightly too dark for her, so I decided to get the concealer to match. The color was 115 and the concealer was 15, which turned out to be too light for me. Anyways I really liked this concealer! I already have a favorite one by NYX that I like slightly more, mostly because it is very easy to blend and works well with my skin type. I did notice that this one did not wear as well and needed to be applied multiple times in order to get the same coverage as my favorite concealer.

EOs Hand Lotion:  I just picked this up for a dollar at the checkout counter! I have always wanted to try their lotions since I had tried (and loved) their little egg lip balm. The scent is Berry Blossom and it feels very nice! I keep it in my purse if I ever need a quick dryness fix or want to smell slightly sweet!

Until Next Time,

Marin S.
