Red, Red, Red

This week we explore this wonderful and stunning color! When wearing red be sure to tone down everything else. You don’t want to look too crazy colorful! Yet I am always a fan for a couple of colored pieces with some red lipstick. If you can pull it off, then do it! That’s what fashion’s about, after all. You express yourself through your clothing. If it’s not “you” and you don’t feel comfortable in it, then it’s not true “fashion”. Always wear what you love and don’t worry about what others might think, if it’s you then you shouldn’t feel self conscious!

Anyways, I love my red heels! They are super comfortable and sassy, perfect for a “feeling pretty” day! Wear them with a dress, like in the photo, and you’ll get compliments from your peers! But don’t limit yourself to dresses, mini skirts and skinny jeans are also fun options!

Final Days are Fashionable Days

Hello people!
So Thursday was my last day at FIT and I absolutely loved every second of it! The people are incredible, and having it be the second time I was in New York City I felt surprisingly at home. You know you have found the place that you want to live in when you leave but it doesn’t feel like you are really leaving. It feels like you are taking a vacation to go back to your real home. Anyways, just wanted to share that little tidbit of life advice before talking about the real reason for this post, which is the outfit!

This outfit is a final statement outfit, and that is why I wore it for the last day of class! The pieces are really bright and easily interchangeable to brighten up any outfit. But I had seen people pull off the mustard-yellow-vibrant-green combo before so when I saw this shirt and skirt at Forever 21, I had to try it!

I paired the whole outfit with Rimmel London’s Kate lipstick in Number 09. I also paired it with a bowler hat from H&M to add a little extra flare and uniqueness to the whole ensemble. I really wanted the hat and all the colors to be the focus of the outfit so I kept everything else very simple and I didn’t wear any other jewelry as to not overwhelm any of my peers on the campus (but I did turn a few heads in Central Park!).

Oo La La Leather!

Hey Guys,
So first off I am super excited to be changing blogging platforms, I really like how this looks and it seems fairly user friendly so I am hoping everything works! Also be sure to check out my other blog at WordPress.com, the URL is in the OTHER BLOG tab up above!

So onto today’s topic, leather. I have seen leather pants popping up everywhere in magazines and stores, so naturally I bought a pair when I saw them in Forever 21. They are very chic, and surprisingly fairly comfortable, which was surprising to me. I also really liked how I can pair so much with them since they are such a relaxed statement piece! They are perfect for lazier days when you want to look good but are running late/far too tired/can’t find clean pants because they can spice up any plain outfit!

In the photo I paired the pants with a loose blouse and a large necklace to tie the whole outfit together, but you can easily pair it with a cool graphic-tee or an oversized shirt while keeping the integrity of the piece.

Lipstick Love

Hey you stylish people!
Today I am recommending one of the best lipstick I have ever worn: Kate by Rimmel London. This brand is beyond my favorite and one of the most highly recommended makeup items by not just myself, but also many Youtube reviewers like Zoella (You should also check her out she is pretty incredible!).

It comes in a bunch of different colors as well as textures! You can get one in a red casing, which has a matte finish and lasts for hours, or you can get the black casing, which has a glossy finish that stays up to normally 5-6 hours with tons of colors to choose from. The black one also smells really good for some reason, so that’s an added bonus!

I personally have not loved any lipstick more than these. There is no lie when I say that they last for hours and still look fresh, so seriously try them out because you won’t find another drugstore lipstick that is THAT GOOD!

Happy Birthday from Tribal Prints!

Hello!
So it has been a long time since I have posted to this blog, but it has been extremely busy on my end. First off I am taking a Fashion Marketing course at FIT (fashion Institute of Technology) so I will be in the New York City/Long Island area for the next three weeks! I was also taking an online blogging course through WordPress the whole month of June, as well as nurturing a new blog (a newbie!) during that time. Link will be below.

Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It has been one year since I started this blog, and even though I have not been the best mother, I am still proud of what has come out of it. Plus, I can only get better from here so that gives me hope for the future.

So now onto the good stuff!

Tribal patterns have been all the rage this summer and fall, so why not discuss them a little bit?
I personally love the prints and enjoy the bright colors they are paired with. In the summer I mainly stick to tribal pattern shawls, which are perfect as a cover up or just in case you get cold. Make sure to get something lightweight and loose (structureless clothing items are REALLY in right now) so that you don’t overheat in the crazy hot summer weather! I have also seen a lot of tribal, structureless shorts everywhere where I look so I would recommend a pair or two of those as well.
