6 Stocking Stuffers For Under $10

Hello My Beauties!

I completely understand, the search for inexpensive Stocking Stuffers is a hard one! Even finding a cute little present for a friend without breaking your bank is tricky. So, if you want the best gift idea, or just a last minute buy, look no further than this blog post!

Bath and Body Works Mini Candles

If you ever want a great little gift idea for the holiday season, I would first go to Bath and Body Works! They have great scents that are very inexpensive. I included the minis because, even though they are slightly over $10, you can get a full line of products for a low cost.

Forever 21 Jewelry

If you are looking for a great piece of jewelry that looks a lot more expensive than it actually is, go to Forever 21! They have all different sorts of earrings, necklaces, and rings ranging from $4-10!

Fuzzy Socks

In my book you can never go wrong with fuzzy socks. Whether they are used around the house or at night with lotion, these socks are a girls best friend this winter! I have seen some animal ones at Old Navy and Bath and Body Works as well, but honestly fuzzy socks are pretty universal. Go to any clothing/fragrance store and I bet you that you will find a great pair for a low cost!

Kate Moss Lipstick

Now this is my personal favorite brand of lipstick, but any drugstore kind will be perfect! I love Rimmel London’s Kate Moss (as I have rambled about many times before) for many, many reasons. But the best thing is that they last and are very pigmented, so there is no worries when going out for a holiday dinner with the family! These were $6 each and definitely worth the money.

Old Navy is having a great sale right now where all pajama pants are $6! I have a couple of pairs that I love and being able to get them for that cheap is so great! So if you are shopping for a gift or something a little more intimate (if you know what I mean 😉) then head over and get a pair!

Black Friday Haul!!!!

Hello My Beauties!

This year’s Black Friday shopping was unbelievable! The savings were amazing and I was able to buy a lot more than I thought I’d be able to be with the money I brought. SO here is my Black Friday Haul for all of you beautiful readers! Please comment with anything you liked as well as the stores you hit up that Friday!

*I just want to say that I did not go shopping on Thanksgiving. I personally don’t support having stores open that early but that’s just one girl’s opinion*

STORES: American Eagle, XXI Forever, Aldo  MONEY: $120

American Eagle Outfitters

So I was able to get a huge discount at AE this year! Not only were they having a 40% off your entire purchase, but I was also able to get $20 off after using the gift card my friend got me for their stores, so thank you Gracie! As for what I bought, I got a really super duper soft striped tee that I just absolutely adore! I’ve never found a shirt with maroon and baby blue color combo and it immediately caught my eye! I also got a super cute flannel button up for this winter. It’s also extremely soft, and I got it in a large since a) they didn’t have my size and b) I liked the bigger fit of it.

XXI Forever

I am so excited for all of the stuff I got at XXI Forever! Their deals weren’t super impressive, but I did have the incredible surprise of having the dress (shown below) be only $6 instead of $20. I bought this really adorable pack of four rings because I have been really needing some new finger candy! I also got this incredible pack of TEN earrings for only FIVE BUCKS! Honestly, if you are ever looking for a place to get great, inexpensive jewelry, Forever 21 is the place to go!

I also bought this super cute, very wintery dress that fits perfectly to accent what small curves I posses, an athletic tank top because I like to think that I am fit in some way, and finally this adorable velvet-black, flower-patterened crop top!

Aldo

I didn’t actually mean to buy anything from Aldo, but once I say these shoes I couldn’t stop myself! The crazy shopping side of me reared its head and I purchased the shoes. It happens to the best of us. No, but seriously I fell into a deep and maddening love when I saw these bad boys! I have been looking for a pair of riding boots for ages but I could never find a pair that I liked, and then I found these and I died a little. They are perfectly accented with the laces and embellishments on the toe but they still keep that riding-boot aesthetic. But wait, there’s more. They were 50% off! So yeah I bought the shoes! Who would’t buy the shoes!? Voldemort probably, but we don’t talk of him or his lack of style…

Okie-dokie thank you all so much for reading and definitely look forward to seeing these items in future posts of mine! Here’s hoping that your holidays were amazing and that you all have a great time shopping for loved ones for this Christmas/ Hanukkah/ Kwanzaa/ Winter Solstice or whatever else you might celebrate!

November Interview: Alex Nguyen

Hello My Beauties!

Florals For Fall Post
Florals For Fall Post

A bit about Alex“Snippets with Alex is a blog about life, style, and things worth while — circled around faith and fashion for the everyday woman.”

1. Where did the name of your blog come from? When I first started my blog, I had no idea what direction I wanted to go in. I knew I wanted to include fashion, but I didn’t want to limit myself to just that. After much contemplating, ‘snippets’ just came to mind. Absolutely no boundaries.

2. When did you start blogging? I started blogging back in high school to document my crafting endeavors and what not, but that lasted about three posts. Then I tried again, but failed after 5 posts due to lack of time with schooling and then teaching. I decided that the third time’s the charm and decided to go more towards the fashion route, which I soon realized was much more manageable because I had to get dressed in the morning anyway! 😛
3. Where do you get your inspirations from?  I get my inspiration from my conversations with people, other blogs, and pretty much just life in general.
%22...be yourself and don't try to write
4. Your taste in clothing is INCREDIBLE! Have you always had an interest in fashion? Aw, you’re sweet. 🙂 I’ve always been interested in fashion, but never really found my style until just recently. Up until college, I always felt like I was in someone else’s skin. I kept dressing myself with the hope to look like that other girl down the street. It was in college that I became comfortable with the body and personality that God gave me. No more trying to impress others. Back then, if I liked it, then I made sure that it was what’s “cool”. But now, if I like it, then I like it with confidence.
5. You say that another aspect of your blog is about encompassing faith into your posts. Can you explain how you do that? My faith in Jesus Christ is a big part of my life and I hope that shows through my blog, whether it’s a full fledge Faith Friday post, or with little words of encouragement. I feel like it’s easy to start getting self-centered, narcissistic, and materialistic when blogging about fashion, and so I try to remind myself daily that our purpose in life is not about our possessions, our own glory, or success, but about living for God in everything we do.
6. How are you able to balance life with your blog? Balancing my life and the blog has been difficult at times. It’s all about the planning — however it helps that I literally see my photographer every day since I drive her to school. 😉 But also, I told myself when I started my blog that my top priorities are still going to be God, family, friends, and my students. This year, with new curriculum and other school happenings, I only blog 1-2 times a week because my students deserve my very best.
7. What do you do outside of your blog?  Outside of my blog, my life mainly consists of teaching and keeping close with my family and friends. You can usually find me at a coffee shop lesson planning or grading, or spending time with friends. When I have extra time, I like to craft. Long story short, I have an off-and-on knitting and stationary business that I would love to dedicate more time to in the near future.
8. What exciting things are you looking forward to that involve your blog? I’m excited for everything and anything. Again, there are no limits [ besides time 😉 ]
9. Obviously you REALLY know how to run a blog! What advice can you give to new bloggers trying to establish themselves in the blogging community? Hmm, I still consider myself a new blogger….but I guess I would have to say, as cliche as it sounds, be yourself and don’t try to write like the bloggers that you admire so much. You’ve got your own voice, and we want to hear it. 🙂
10. Finally, what is the worst outfit you ever wore? My worst outfit? Honestly, probably everything that I wore before sophomore year of college. Honestly, it was more of my hair and glasses choices hence I am probably never going to cut my hair again. ;P

Post Halloween Post!

Hello My Beauties!

Happy Belated Halloween everyone! Sorry that I was not able to actually post this on Halloween, I had a pretty exciting night. But all is well and I wanted to share some cool pictures/post my latest youtube video!

I dressed up as a Greaser this year, which was basically the best decision ever! I got my shirt, jacket, and faux leather pants from Forever 21, the shoes and earrings from Payless, the bandana headband from Claire’s, and the lipstick is Rimmel London’s Kate Moss lipstick in shade No. 10. It was all so much fun and I was able to enter the costume contest with my friend who was also a Greaser!

Then my friend Walker and I carved pumpkins together (watch the VIDEO!) and headed over to a small Halloween get together. Sadly we got in a car accident and Walker could not go to the party, everyone was okay though! No Worries! But I ended up going and having a lot of fun with some old friends and a lot of chocolate cake!

All-in-all I am really pleased by the holiday and I can’t wait for next year! Please comment below with your Halloween tales! I’d love to hear them 😉

Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks,

Marin XO
