On the last day of school, after all of the stress of finals, I went around my town and shot some ballerina photos! I’m no professional, so don’t expect much, but I had so much fun and it was such a treat after all of that dreaded studying. Also, don’t worry, I had my amazing friend who does photography take these photos, I’m not that person that goes around with a tripod to take photos of myself… Not publicly at least.
This post is meant to be more photos than writing, so I will be signing off now! Fashion Friday is tomorrow though, and I have a really cool post ready! Otherwise you can read my last post about the easiest way to take care of your eyebrows at home! Until next time…
It’s so important to treat yo’self and what is better than a quick, or long, spa day?! I’m going to show you all of my necessities for a good spa day, whether it’s 5 minutes before getting ready or spending a couple of hours at home, these products will make it great to relax. Find my previous beauty post HERE!
First: Clean Those Pores~ I LOVE Que Bella Face Masks. I found these at Target where you can get 1 packet for a dollar or get a tube for a little over $5! They work so well– I personally use their Replenishing Mud Mask all the time. It’s great for black heads and for cleaning out your pores, which is always a fun experience. Second:
Rest Your Eyes~ This is the type of relaxation product that you can use before putting on makeup, to take a quick break at work, or after a face mask. You can reuse these (just make sure they don’t break) and you can store them in the refrigerator to de-puff your eye-bags, or put them in warm water for 5 mins to replicate a hot cloth. Third:
Treat Your Toes~ If you’ve got time, take a bath! If you don’t, treat your feet. I got this as a gift from my friend, but I promise you it works. I usually soak my feet with this, which is so, so relaxing. I don’t know much about this brand in particular, but any mineral soak will do!
Fourth: Lotion It UP!~ Right after a shower, mornings, nights, random times throughout the day. All of these are times when you could be helping your skin by using lotion! I especially like Aveeno’s Stress Relief lotion because it’s infused with chamomile and lavender, which is always an amazing combination of scents.
The first fav of the past month is this Bath and Body Works Cranberry Pear Bellini candle. I have it at my desk so I can easily light it without getting up. The con to that is that there is a high fire risk. It also just makes me feel so grown up! I mean, what is more adult than a well decorated room filled with candles? Nothing! And I know what your all thinking, but get your head out go the gutter. Only candle shopping is for adults…
I’ve currently been “reading” Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. It’s a very thick and slightly confusing book about a man in WWII just trying to go home, but not being able to. It’s very well written, and I promise you that you’ll laugh from the absurdity of the whole thing. It gets weird.
I went shopping a while back *GASP* and bought this really sweet watch from Target. It has a faux leather band and a beautiful face, all for $10! And yes, it actually works! I tend to be one of those people that needs to have one watch that goes with everything, and if it doesn’t then I don’t want it. Thankfully this watch can be so easily dressed up or down, and I keep it in my makeup bag so that I will remember it every morning.
I also picked up this faux leather backpack/purse whilst at Target! It is huge. I mean honestly, it is so very, very huge. I can’t handle how massive it is. It’s like the bag in Mary Poppins; it holds everything. All of the normal contents in my bag take up a fifth of what this can hold.
My next favorite is this very naughty tea mug! Tea mug, is that what they are called? British people, quick, what is it called?! This is my favorite mug and it makes me want to buy more snarky and slightly inappropriate mugs for my own amusement. Where did I get it you ask? Urban Outfitters, where else?
Finally, and most randomly, is the Nutribullet. This thing is amazing. I’m drinking so many smoothies, which are a great way to eat but also not have to waste energy on chewing. I’m a genius. Anyways, this extreme blender thingy is the best thing to ever happen to me, so thank you Nutribullet. You have earned a spot in my April Favorites.
Watch this video first and then read this post, it will make a bit more sense!
My most serious relationship didn’t last very long, and I have to say that I’m not quiet sure if it was “true love”, but I do think that it was some kind of love. We definitely had our ups and downs, but somehow we continued to forgive and forget. That is until the bad started to outweigh the good.
“I miss you. Not ‘I regret what happened’ or ‘I want to see you again’. Just… I miss you.” This was how it felt after we broke up. I knew that it was the right thing to do, but there was still this piece of me that felt weird and indescribable. It was that kind of feeling that you get at one in the morning and you don’t really know why. It was a part of me that missed loving someone so much, and being loved in return.
This short film by Nick L’Barrow hits you where you don’t expect it to. It tells the story of two people who “loved without reason”, and felt the loss when it was over. It’s real, honest, and painful because I believe that we’ve all experienced these feelings in our own ways. When we breakup, we end something beautiful, so it’s understandable that it hurts so damn much.
So when you’re at the computer, pouring your heart out in an email addressed to the one that you once loved (which we have all done), maybe it’s better not to send it. Maybe it’s better to move forward, to miss what has gone missing, and to love again. Maybe it’s better to start another, equally beautiful relationship with someone just as amazing. Maybe it’s better to love again and risk what you have, than to chase what’s already been lost. Just some food for thought.
