One Last Time!

Hello my Beauties!
Before the Fall takes over and then slowly transforms into winter, I really want to post one last summer outfit. So, wherever you are, here’s hoping its going to be warm for a little bit longer!

Bull Head High Waisted Shorts
High Wasted Shorts HERE!

High waisted shorts are a must have. I can’t even imagine my life without them. You can seriously pair these babies with any kind of shirt; cropped, normal, buttoned, anything! I have paired them with this super soft tank that I got from a cute boutique at my near by mall.

Since I have discovered the Kate Moss lipstick line by Rimmel London I have been wearing a lot more lipstick in a lot of different colors. Whenever I am wearing an outfit that could use a little more pizzaz, I reach for a intense lip-lacquer to tie everything together and bring a little more attention to my face. I mean, who doesn’t want to catch someone’s eye once and a while?!

Until Next Time,

Chicago Style

Hey people!
Sorry that I have not updated the blog in a while, but now that I am back home and finally unpacked I am back in the blogging game! So here is a small glimpse of my fashionable time in Chicago.

Dress, Macy's, $50; Bag, Coach, $150; Scarf, gift; Shoes, Payless, $25

So first off I found a TELEPHONE BOOTH at the train station! And it actually worked! Anyways, I really love this dress since it combines the classic look of a seersucker dress with the tighter, form-fitting outline of a more modern piece. It is also very easy to style up, or down, as well as accessorize.

I got this skirt in NYC and so far I am fairly satisfied with it! I really like the little bow-tie belt that adds a little flair to the outfit without even trying! I paired it with this cute shirt to make it more of a “Night out”

Skirt, Forever 21; Shirt, Modcloth.com; Sweater, Old Navy, $19; Shoes, Payless, $25; Purse, Coach

outfit. Another thing is the sweater- since I was in New York I realized how handy it is to carry a light, but warm, sweater with you wherever you go!

Stay tuned for more tips and outfit ideas!

Until Next Time,

Marin S.

I just recently realized how awesome and cute this look is, even though it isn’t new. Pairing any sweater with a stand-out, collared shirt is both comfortable and chic! It’s a perfect fall combination that will catch anyone’s eye and is super simple.

Go BOLD! Bring attention to your sweater by having a brightcolored collar and grey skinny jeans! Jeans, $19, Uni Qlo; Sweater, $10, Old Navy; Collar Shirt, $10, Forever 21; Bag, $24, TJ Maxx

Keep everything else simple, the statement piece is the collared sweater. This type of style looks best with jeans, but can be worn with a skirt, just do what feels best! Keep jewelry simple as well and make sure that the sweater does not have bright colors that could clash with the collar so that you aren’t too bright.

Always make sure to keep the style “you” and have fun with it! You’ll be turning heads down the halls in no time!

Final Days are Fashionable Days

Hello people!
So Thursday was my last day at FIT and I absolutely loved every second of it! The people are incredible, and having it be the second time I was in New York City I felt surprisingly at home. You know you have found the place that you want to live in when you leave but it doesn’t feel like you are really leaving. It feels like you are taking a vacation to go back to your real home. Anyways, just wanted to share that little tidbit of life advice before talking about the real reason for this post, which is the outfit!

Final day outfit at FIT.
Final day outfit at FIT.

This outfit is a final statement outfit, and that is why I wore it for the last day of class! The pieces are really bright and easily interchangeable to brighten up any outfit. But I had seen people pull off the mustard-yellow-vibrant-green combo before so when I saw this shirt and skirt at Forever 21, I had to try it!

I paired the whole outfit with Rimmel London’s Kate lipstick in Number 09. I also paired it with a bowler hat from H&M to add a little extra flare and uniqueness to the whole ensemble. I really wanted the hat and all the colors to be the focus of the outfit so I kept everything else very simple and I didn’t wear any other jewelry as to not overwhelm any of my peers on the campus (but I did turn a few heads in Central Park!).

If you want to learn more about the lipstick I wore in the photos, check out my other post Lipstick Love.

Until next time,
Marin Scott
