15 Ways To Love Yourself!

Hello My Beauties!

Now, we all go through times of insecurities. Maybe your eyebrows are crooked and now you can’t stop looking at them? Or you’ve just found another pimple? Maybe you were just turned down for an interview, a job, or a date?

All of these things hurt us in different ways. To some they mean nothing, while to others they hurt like hell and create a lot of self doubt.

I always like to dress up when I’m feeling down. The only way to feel sexy is to look sexy, right? But sometimes it’s bigger than that. Sometimes that feeling just doesn’t go away and we feel more and more self-concious or inadequate.

I get it. I’ve been there many times. But you can’t let those negative feelings hold you down. That’s the opposite of progress guys, that’s not what we want right now. We want to kick those feelings in the ass! Make them our bitches (so to speak). You don’t deserve to feel bad about yourself, none of us do! We’re AMAZING!

Now that I’ve got you guys riled up with all those swear words, let’s move onto solving this problem.

I usually peruse the internet hunting for that one awesome article that will tell me how to feel better, and it usually works. This time I found an especially great one that I want to share with all of you!

Can you believe that all of that was leading up to a video?! Well, it was! Watch my video to see the 15 things that you can do to reconnect with yourself, and stay updated to see photos of me doing those exact things!

Also, if you EVER need anyone to talk to, I’m here to listen, advise, deliver revenge, etc, etc.

Fluffy Sugar Cookie Recipe!

Hello My Beauties!

You remember those really good, extremely bad-for-you frosted cookies that you find at Kroger’s or Meijer’s? If you don’t, you obviously didn’t have a well-fullfilled childhood and you’re probably reading this with a celery stick in your mouth while running on your Bo-Flex or something like that.

Anyways a while ago I found a pretty good recipe online and since then I’ve been experimenting with different measurements to get the best results! I’d love to hear what you guys think if you end up using this recipe, so comment below Loves!

Ingredients

4 1/2 cups flour
4 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter, at room temperature
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
5 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

First pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Then whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large to medium sized bowl.

Then, using a hand mixer or large-paddle mixer, blend the butter and sugar together for 3 minutes or until it’s whipped. Slowly add one egg at a time, and then finally the vanilla extract to the mix. Also, can we please address the fact that my hand mixer is from the 70’s?! I’m really surprised that it still runs, and the box has my grandmother’s handwriting on the box from when she owned it!

Then add the bowl of the dry ingredients to the mix and stir until everything has been stirred together. Afterwards, roll the cookie dough into a big ball and refrigerate it for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, take a 1/4 cup and use it to scoop out the dough. The roll it and place it on the cookie dough pan about 2-3 inches apart. Once all of the cookie has been rolled, put the sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.

After that leave your finished cookies out to cool! I hope that you enjoyed this post, and if you do decide to follow this recipe I hope you enjoy your future cookies!

My Relaxation Day

Hello My Beauties!

So this is long overdue (what can you do?), but after finals my friend Grace and I had a relaxation day filled with foot soaking, face masks, and an AMAZING sexy serial-killer. I made sure to take as many photos as possible, but honestly it was mostly us glued to the TV screen 🙂 I hope that you enjoy my loves!

The Beginning

We started off the day with all of our necessary items. These included soft blankets, good books, and lip balm! Honestly what else do you need?

Breakfast Time!

DSC_0135

Next we ate a balanced (sorta… not really) breakfast while we cozied up on the couch! I had two slices of toast with raspberry jelly, a blueberry greek yogurt cup, and some raspberries. I can’t lie it was really, really good! And also probably one of the most put together meals I’ve ever had.

The Middle

We read that lemon water is perfect for a day of detoxing, so we practically filled my water pitcher with sliced lemons! I personally love this small trick! It made me feel very refreshed, and I drank a lot more water than I normally do. This is also a great trick if your water has a funky taste due to different minerals in your pipes!

Next to the fantabulous water we had a couple of Fiber One bars, some nail polish and lip balm, and finally Grace’s awesome sugar scrub/foot-soak-oil-stuff (it’s homemade)! We also had The Fall on in the background, which you guys should really watch if you like sexy Irish serial killers.

The Foot Bath

Then we went on to soaking our feet with two teaspoons of the sugar scrub in each bowl. It took a while to get the water to be just the right temperature, but it was totally worth it! While our feet were being pampered, we sipped cups of chamomile tea and continued to binge-watch The Fall. Really guys, you gotta watch it.

Face Mask Time

We then went onto creating our homemade face mask. Both of us have been suffering with some not-enjoyable acne as of late, so we chose an egg white, honey, and lemon juice mask. For this you need 1 egg white, 1/2 teaspoon honey, and some lemon juice. Not a lot, but some. We used half a lemon for this batch, so if you are just making it for one person then use 1/4  or 1 teaspoon. We then applied the mask with an E.L.F foundation brush and washed it off after 15 minutes. Afterwards my skin was so much smoother and my pimples were not as red as before!

The End of a Pretty Awesome Year

Hello My Beauties!

It’s been a whole flipping’ YEAR! I can’t begin to wrap my head around the fact that 2015 is tomorrow. Not to mention all of the insane things that have happened this year, one being the incredible progress on this blog!

It has been through so much, starting off as a place for just discussion topics and then finally merging with my old fashion blog to create QWERTY Girl, a place where my thoughts reside.

Anyways, I just want to say that I love you all so, so, so much and that I can’t imagine my life without you. Thank you to all of the bloggers that have helped me and partnered with me, and thank you to those who will be joining our Beautiful Community!

Thank you all and have a very merry New Year!

*Drumroll for the last sign-off of 2014*

Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks, and I’ll see you all next year,

Marin XO

My Sunday Morning Ft. Me Puppy!

Hello My Beauties!

I really want to include you guys more in my life outside of my blog, and what better way to show you guys than through photos! This morning was really easy going; editing videos, reading my book, etc. Then I realized that you haven’t properly met the biggest part of my life yet!

I made sure to take a ton of photos of my dog, Whiskers, to show to all of you! Also, tell me what you think! I’d love to hear some feedback on these types of things.
